11 days.
In 11 days the new year is almost upon us. It’s been a difficult one. It’s been one full of learning and experimenting when it comes to me writing and photography.
This evening I spent a few moments capturing some photos for my Apartment project. I used my Canon 1300D with the 50mm f/1.8 lens. The last week or so I have been using this camera as my workhorse for the photos.
I have in mind to use the X-E2 some more during the coming year – mostly because I am interested in playing around with the recipe I created for my long exposure shots. Understanding the details for the recipe to help me get better looking photos.

The two photos above were taking a few minutes apart – I prefer the bottom one due to the color in the bottom left window as well as the light trail. Capturing light trails are one of my primary goals for this project.
I used Snapseed to edit these images. I enjoy the look of the images I get when I apply the Grainy Film filter. I don’t want to emulate film as much I want to get a aesthetically pleasing image. There is another ‘filter’ [not sure if this is the correct word for it] which I am curious to try but I’ll focus on it at another time.
tl;dr
If you’re interested in some more photos of this apartment block or some of my other photos & writing have a look at my Substack. And if you’re looking for a Christmas present – check out my shop where I sell some of these prints.

I recently added my first two images for sale. “Nine” and “Late Winter” are two images which are available for sale now. I’m aiming to add a new image for the next few weeks and plan to add some combinations which feature multiple images.
