Night time experimentation.

It has been a few weeks since I took photos of the apartment complex.

Mostly because I am trying to let it stew for a little bit. Absence makes the heart grow faster they say. This evening I had a bit of free time and I did some reading. I came across this article about low light and night time photography. In addition to the long exposure images I take I’ve done some experimenting with the Fujifilm film simulation recipes.

I use an X-E2 which has an X-Trans II sensor. The drawback is a lot of the modern settings for the X-Trans V sensor on a Fujifilm XT-5. After a few searches, some reading and some questioning I came up with a recipe which simulates a CINESTILL 800T look. Having never shot film I’d appreciate any feedback from people who have done so. My goal here isn’t to simulate film successfully – it is pure experimentation and seeing what comes off the sensor.

Here a few photos from the evening. Shot on the X-E2 with a 35mm lens and edited in Snapseed.

tl;dr

More experimentation with Fuji recipes and night time photos.

Thanks for reading : )

P.S If you’re looking for the recipe for the XT-5 you can find it here.
