A flick of the wrist.
Typically not associated with photography but when applied correctly it can give you some interesting results. I have experimented with this type of photography but in a more “structured” way. Being the rebellious wild child I am [not really ;)] I decided to try a different approach to the motion concept.
During the previous times when I created motion blur photos I found if you keep the camera still for a brief time and then move it you capture some detail in the image. I haven’t tested this enough but it is on my to-do list. Armed with my XE-2 and 35mm lens I went outside. There were not as many lights on in the complex so it was a bit of a boring pallet in terms of the colors. Fortunately one of the ‘regular’ lights was a blue / turquoise light which stayed on while I was taking photos.
What I enjoy the most of these type of images is how the movement of the hand determines what you will see in the photo. The light trails at the top of the windows reminds me of the tops of waves. The spray at the top being whipped elsewhere. The small dotted line above the top window’s light trail.

In this image I wanted to show what it looks like without any blur. I might have to slow down my shutter speed some more because the images tend to be too dark. If you look closely you might see the palisade fence through which I shoot.

tl;dr
This is something different from what I usually photograph. And it also shows how you can turn one photo into a few photos. I can do long exposure. I can do these shutter drag type images or I can shoot out of focus images. From experimentation it is possible to create more images. This experimentation leads to creativity.
This leads to more photography. Which is the ultimate goal IMO.
