A photograph which captures a quiet morning as a low fog settled over a silo and a large shed. Captured on a Fujifilm XE-2 using a 35mm lens this image is full size with dimensions of 4896 x 3264. In black and white to echo the haunting atmosphere.
Description
Quiet.
Fog tends to dampen the ambient noise. Nature chooses not to make a sound. I can’t remember if there were any people sounds on this day. November is not a cold month in the Southern Hemisphere. It is the end of Spring. A transition into something much warmer.
I was on my way to work when I captured this. It sits close to where I live and was probably my first shot of the day. I went for a lower aperture to capture a bit more of the details in the frame. The bushes on the side of the road and against the prefabricated wall. The individual slabs in the wall. The details on the roof and the walls of the shed made out of corrugated iron. In the background a partially visible a row of trees which lines the street running just behind the property. The phone lines and the power lines crossing the image and leading your eyes from silo to shed.
I tried to convey the moment I experienced on this Spring morning at the turn of the season.
